My name is Glamorosi; I've been making jewelry since I was five years old and designing clothing and costumes since I was seven. I grew up on stage, local TV and in USO ShowTroupes, worked in the music biz, and had a long and happy run as a makeup artist and stylist. As much as I loved painting faces it was always my secret wish to be a jewelry designer, so in 2002 on a dare and a prayer I traded in my brushes for pliers. Since then, my jewelry has been sold in brick and mortar stores and at juried craft and trade shows, and it has been featured in books and magazines. My designs have been worn by numerous performers and celebrities, and a countless number of brides and Renaissance Faire fans.
I also work as a freelance photographer; my shots have been published in various formats over the years. My food and event photos have appeared in newspapers and magazines since 2010.
In 2012, on a local, in-person basis, I expanded my product line to include accessories, home decor and stationery featuring my original photos and drawings, and a lovely line of natural perfumes made with botanical essences. In Fall 2016, these collections will begin appearing in my Etsy shop and/or my standalone website.
My Mother is my muse and all of my items are designed with her impeccable style and high standards in mind. I use one of her modeling shots on my company literature and packaging.
My work is influenced by by everything I see and experience on a daily basis: a lifetime spent dealing in and collecting vintage items (jewelry, clothing, textiles, housewares and furniture); my passion for cooking, baking, fine dining, tea and organic gardening (I grow heirloom tomatoes, herbs, fruit and edible flowers and I raise butterflies)... I'm a lifelong beachcomber and a still (always) learning yoga enthusiast... I enjoy painting myself and my friends with mehndi tattoos... I love all music, especially rock, and classic movies, especially films from the silent era and 1930s... I am a Doctor Who fanatic... It all shows up in my designs.
I'm married to a journalist, and we co-write a website called Glamorosi Magazine. We cover food, fashion, art and entertainment, so I attend a lot of dinners and culinary events, openings, concerts, parties, theater and dance performances. You can see what we're up to at http://GlamorosiMagazine.com
We live in Philadelphia, PA with a magnificent black greyhound named Django in honor of jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.
